BIO

Gareth Mckean is an Australian stand-up comedian, born in Southwest England in 1971. He arrived in Queensland-Australia, aged 10 years of age and performed admirably as the class clown.

Gareth took up Stand Up after he hired an Open Mic group to his Golf Country Club to perform. He asked if he could grab 5 mins to have a go. He stayed up there for 10 “crushed” and the rest is history.

He is arguably one of the most unapologetic comedians in Australia.

Loud, energetic and an imaginative storyteller, Gareth entertains the crowd with real life events the way only “he saw them”. Father of millennial girl and boy twins, a middle manager for 25+ years, and married for 30, all his tales strike a comical chord across all generations. Pulling zero punches he says it how it is and makes no apologies for it.

With Sold Out shows at the Perth Fringe 2021-2024, he was part of the Team America Tour peaking in the now legendary Trailer Trash show at Perth’s Regal Theatre and several other sell out comedy productions and tours across Australia.

Gareth has recently performed in QLD, Bali, San Francisco, Iowa and New York.

He has entertained a full house of 780 guests in the Grand Ballroom Perth Crown and gala events at Joondalup Resort but also had small country pubs in fits of laughter.

Proving you are never too old to follow your dreams, Gareth now has his sights on touring Australia.

So make this a bucket list gig  not to be missed.

"It was an excellent experience working with Gareth for FRINGE 2023. His commitment to making the show a success, was over and above acts we have supported in the past. We will be booking Gareth again in the future."
